Treasured Art

Whenever we go into a child’s room we’re never sure what we will find.  Always, there’s a precious patient that would rather be anywhere than stuck in that room.   But they usually seem cheered a bit when they realize we’re there to bring them a bit of fun through art.

A few weeks ago the situation was reversed.  We walked into a room filled with beautiful art which had been created by a remarkable 15-year old girl.  One picture, in particular, caught my eye – a painting of her dog that was so real it was as though you could feel the fur as you touched it.  Fast forward a few days and this gifted artist had painted a picture of my dog from a photo and it is now one of my greatest treasures.  Not only because it is perfect but because it reminds me of this very special, gifted girl that I know is going to make so many people happy in the years ahead by sharing her talent with the world.
