Camp

In 1988, Paul Newman opened The Hole in the Wall Gang Camp in Connecticut so that children coping with serious illnesses could have a special hideout where they could simply be kids. It continues to provide โ€œa different kind of healingโ€ to children with serious illnesses and their families through year-round programs celebrating the fun, friendship and spirit of childhood.

The Camp, which served 288 campers its first year, now serves more than 20,000  children and their families each year through family weekends and special outreach programs throughout the year.

The Kansas City campers are very fortunate to be able to attend camp each year alongside these children from the Northeast.  They have won the hearts of everyone at camp with their enthusiasm and wide-eyed thrill at being able to take part in such a magnificent program.    Itโ€™s incredible to think about the difference Eric has made in their lives with his simple idea of raising money to take a whole group rather than being the only one to experience this magical place.
